RAM 1500 Service Intervals

Ram sets the following service milestones. As with most manufacturers, RAM lists its service schedule in miles rather than how long you have owned your truck.

• 8,000 Miles - The first scheduled service for your RAM is its first oil and filter change. This is also a good time to have your other fluids checked and tires rotated.
• 20,000 Miles – This one will take a little longer. Your service technicians will check your brakes, tie rods, and front suspension. If needed, they can be adjusted or replaced should it be required.
• 30,000 Miles - Small jobs like cabin and engine air filter replacement and larger jobs like CV/Universal joint inspection should be done at this point. It’s also an ideal time to have the case and axles inspected, and your transfer case fluid checked.
• 60,000 Miles - Engine coolant, transmission fluid, filters, and brake fluid are checked and replaced if needed.
• 100,000 Miles – Along with repeating many of the services listed above, you should have your PVC joints and spark plugs and wires inspected and replaced.
• 120,000 Miles – The 60,000-mile service should be repeated and, if you use your RAM to haul or tow cargo, its transfer case should also be inspected, and the fluid changed.
• 150,000 Miles - Cabin and engine should be replaced. Your vehicle’s engine cabin and filters should be inspected at this point and replaced if needed.
