What Does Brake Fluid Do?

Brake fluid works as the hydraulic fluid in your brakes to help make sure that the pressure from your foot when you press on the brake pedal can be transferred to the brakes and the calipers to stop the car. The brake fluid is important and does get dirty and loses volume as well. Brake fluid needs to be changed for a few different reasons. For starters, if you notice that your brakes are spongy or soft they may need more brake fluid. On top of that, you may need to have your brake fluid changed if you have been driving for a great distance and your brake pads need to be serviced. You may also need brake fluid changed in cases where you are having normal service interval services performed. Brake fluid does change in texture, it does change in overall volume, and it may also change in effectiveness so if you notice these changes, you may need to have your fluid changed. Your technician can check your fluid and change it out as needed. Brakes are a must and making sure that they are well cared for and working the way that they should be is one of the best ways to make sure your car is stopping as it should be.
